Ryan Kiefer, MD
I joined the PIGI Lab in 2016 as a HHMI-SIRF medical research fellow. This opportunity provided me a dedicated year out of my medical school curriculum for full time research during which I nurtured my interest in interventional oncology. My work was predominately focused on hepatocellular carcinoma in a rodent model and the metabolic changes induced by ischemia as in transarterial embolization. Now as an interventional radiology resident at the University of Pennsylvania, my interest is in translational oncologic research and the effort to personalize interventional oncology care for patients. Outside of the lab and hospital, I enjoy fishing, ice hockey, and hiking.
